From our single acre of Sauvignon Blanc -- a free-thinking and exuberant group of grapevines in the middle of our idyllic eastern-most "Lost Orchard" vineyard area, on a bluff bordering Lake Hennessey, with Pritchard Hill on the far shore. Winemaker Diana Seysses speaks of the wine's "creamy texture" balanced by a "citrusy acidity." Whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented by wild native yeasts in stainless steel and used oak barrels, no malolactic fermentation, aged sur lies. We make this wine for ourselves, exactly the way we like it, but are pleased to share. The '18 was the only California Sauvignon Blanc awarded a gold medal at this year's French Concours Mondial du Sauvignon Blanc.
